They saw development in existing weapons, such as
rifles, and the use of new weapons.
-Christian Sharps invented a gun called a sharps carbine. It was used more by the North. Then the South stole the weapons and copied it for themselves.
-The rifles were simply muskets. Out of all of the Civil War weapons the musket was the most widely used weapon of the entire war and it caused 90% of the deaths in th war gunfire.
Civil War cannons were the kings of the war.
The bayonet was not used very often by the solders.
